Turkey's industrial output rose 1% in January compared to December 2018, according to data released Thursday by the Turkish Agency for Statistics.
The index of industrial production in Turkey decreased by 7.3% in January compared to the same month of 2018.
The data showed that economists were predicting a 7.7% drop in the industrial production index in January compared with the same month of last year.
The index of industrial production is one of the most important economic indicators depending on the monitoring of the evolution of the economic situation: it is possible to measure the magnitude of the evolution of the volume of industrial production, to determine the economic balance and to prepare the national tripartite and annual calculations.
