The Arab Council for Children and Development will announce next week the winners of the King Abdulaziz Prize for Scientific Research on Childhood and Development in the Arab World, which devoted its first session to the theme "Deceiving for citizenship ". Hassan Al-Baylawi, Secretary General of the Cairo-based Council, said the award aimed to strengthen the culture of children's rights by enriching scientific research in the field of childhood, by supporting researchers interesting to the problems of children in Arab countries and motivating creators and researchers in scientific production in the field of childhood, and to maximize community dialogue on issues of importance to children and their creation through research.

He stressed that the Council had chosen the theme of the first session of the "Deceiving Citizenship" prize in partnership with the Arab Gulf Development Program (AGFUND), based on the Council's interest in issues related to the Children, education and citizenship as priority issues for the education of children in Arab countries and for the accumulated experience of the Council in this area. The Council has developed a new model of education for Arab children, "Raising Hope", based on a human rights-based approach, which aims to develop hope by strengthening the child's conscience, by waking up, releasing his energies and strengthening his abilities. Al-Baylawi said that a ceremony would be held under the high patronage of Prince Abdulaziz Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz, President of the Council, during which the awards would be awarded to the laureates, the research being closed on August 30, 2018.
