Last Thursday, Saudi businessman Hussein Qazzaz, the most famous perfumer in the Middle East, passed away.
Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported that Hussein Bakri Al-Qazzaz was associated with perfumes and aesthetic needs of women and men, after a history of nearly 79 years of trading in this area.
She added that he started his business in 1942 with a small store in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, before succeeding in transforming this small store into a large luxury goods group through “Kazaz Homes”.
Qazzaz stores have become a place of pilgrimage for anyone seeking elegance, with over 60 stores covering all regions of Saudi Arabia.
Its stores are also one of the Kingdom’s largest trading houses, which included gold, jewelry, watches, accessories, perfumes, menswear, fabrics, and womenswear.
Hussein Qazzaz has received agencies from 48 international brands of luxury watches and perfumes. Even the late French President Jacques Chirac awarded him the “Medal of Honor” for being the largest importer of cosmetics in the Middle East in the 1990s in May 2001.
