Al Ahly officials have announced the appointment of Switzerland's René Feiler as coach of the new club Al-Ahly, who will succeed Argentine Martin Lasarte, sacked after the defeat of the Cup of Nations. Egypt in the round of 16 by a defeat against Pyramids.

– He left the juniors and started working in Swiss second division with Schaffhausen. He has 55 games won 18 times and lost 24 times in 24 draws and 13 draws.
– The second experience was with the Aarau team between 2011 and 2014 and was successful promotion in 2013 in the Premier League.
– He left Switzerland and went to Germany where he coached several teams of the second section and did not achieve any significant feat.
– Weiler found his place in Belgium and won the Super League title with Anderlecht.
René Feiler returned to Switzerland to lead Lucerne from July 2018 to February 2019. He led the team in 26 games, 11 wins, 14 losses and one draw.
