The number of victims of the Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo has risen to 220.

The number of people diagnosed with the epidemic, which began in July in North Kivu, has risen to 453, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

Forty-eight people have died, but it is unclear if it was because of Ebola.

The disease was confirmed in 405 people and the number of people recovered was 144.

More than 39,845 people have been vaccinated against the disease since the start of the vaccination campaign on August 8th.

On the other hand, the outbreak of Ebola first appeared in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1976, while the disease had spread to West Africa in December 2013.

The Ebola outbreak spread to Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone between 2014 and 2017 and infected 30,000 people, 11,000 of whom perished.
