The oceans will lose their blue color in 80 years because of the impact of climate change on phytoplankton, which helps to give color to the oceans and seas, according to a study by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States.
The researchers found that many changes would occur in at least 50% of the world's oceans: the blue areas would become blue, while the green areas, like the Earth's poles, could change color.
The changes could pose a significant risk to marine life. Changes in one of the phytoplankton / phytoplankton species could affect the diet of many marine creatures.
