Neptune is the eighth planet in terms of distance from the Sun. It is 29 times farther from the Earth than the Earth separates from the Sun. In contrast, it is about 28.93 astronomical units of the Earth and orbits the Sun in 165 days. August 25, 1989, no man-made spacecraft has ever been visited.
