The Qatar University Alumni Association organizes the activities of the Astronomical Park

The astronomy section of the Alumni Association of Qatar University organized the Astronomical Park event on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Museum of Islamic Art from 4 pm to 10 pm, bringing together a large number of interested visitors.

The Astronomical Park is an open-air astronomical exhibition that embodies the solar system on a miniature scale, with each meter measuring approximately 10 million km in space.

It was possible to attend an educational and entertaining visit between the celestial bodies and to explore closely the distances between the planets and the sun and to compete with each other, near the spirits along the Museum's garden. of Islamic art. During the event, the branch organized an hour-long visit starting at 5 pm, starting from the starting point of the sun, at the beginning of the pedestrian walkway, near the city center. 39, the museum's main entrance, to explain the most important features of planets and planets when roaming in the solar system.

It should be noted that this event is one of the activities of the astronomy branch of the Alumni Association of Qatar University, where it focuses on various astronomical activities, such as scientific observation, such as monitoring of the lunar eclipse of Doha using telescopes and the explanation of the phenomenon, Light in the city. The section also organizes specialized conferences in the field of astronomy, such as the conference of Sheikh Salman Bin Jabr Al-Thani, president of the Center for Space and Astronomy Sciences of Qatar, on the suspicion of monitoring the Ramadan crescent . In addition to periodic seminars between members of the Association and interested in local astronomy of experts and amateurs, which cover interesting topics, such as: Life in the Space and various astronomical phenomena.
