The ruble has strengthened against the dollar as a result of "soft" decisions by the Fed, which pushed the dollar to less than 64 rubles, its lowest level since the summer.
According to data from the Moscow Stock Exchange, the value of the dollar compared to "tomorrow" rubles fell from 57 kopecks to 63.82 rubles and from the euro to 23 kopecks to 72.83 rubles.
Earlier in the day, the dollar had fallen to 63.7 rubles – the lowest since August of last year, and the euro to 72.74 rubles, the lowest since July.
According to analysts, the Fed has kept its key rate at 2.25-2.5% per year, after which the regulator decided to slow down its assets on the balance sheet in May and reduce them in September.
