The Syrian Vaccine team is preparing for the largest vaccination campaign in northern Syria

The group said in a statement on Friday that the campaign was targeting the city of Atma and its camps, as well as the towns of Dana and Sarmada in the northern Idlib countryside, in addition to the city of Dana and Sarmada. Izzaz and camps and hills of the Levant in the northern countryside of Aleppo, in addition to the coastal camps.

"The vaccine to be given to children is a pneumococcal vaccine, which protects children against pneumonia, meningitis, sinusitis and middle ear infections," the team added.

The team noted that "due to displacement and population density in this region, the unstable medical situation and the recording of several cases of illness, it was decided to conduct a vaccination campaign against the disease. pneumococcus for children aged two to two years and for 10 days from February 23 to March 5. "The team stressed that the child vaccination campaign encompasses all camps and all communities and is located in specific locations, including mosques and medical points. The team also confirmed that the vaccine was safe and effective and had no side effects.

The Syria Vaccine team works in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO), based in Gaziantep, Turkey, and receives UN vaccines to send them to health directorates Free.

"We hope that there will be no congestion in the vaccination points and that it would have been better to pass the vaccination through the houses, but we understand that this work is very difficult for executives and increase the duration of the campaign, In any case, we thank them for the efforts they have made to provide the vaccine to children. "

Immunization campaigns are being launched in northern Syria in coordination between the health departments of Aleppo and Idleb, and the World Health Organization's Syria Vaccine team. (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
