Last week, experts from the University of Minnesota issued warnings about a deadly disease that had affected two states and two Canadian provinces, stating that they could be passed on to humans.

Scientists have warned of the disease, which they call "chronic wasting disease" or "deer zombie disease," which affects the deer and eventually leads to death, according to the website "popsci".

Experts have denied the existence of vaccines or treatments for the disease, which, according to scientists, spread directly through contact between animals, but indirectly through drinking water or food contaminated.

Michael Austerholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research at the University of Minnesota, confirmed the possibility of human losses in the months and years to come, if the situation persisted, and said that human cases associated with the consumption of contaminated meat would probably be documented in the coming years.

Scientists describe chronic wasting as a worldwide known disease of mad cow disease in recent years. "Public health officials and those who work in the beef industry have never thought that it could infect people," he said.

Symptoms of the disease include weight loss, stumbling, inconsistency in movement, lack of fear of people and aggression, which explains the title of "zombie disease".
