On the International Day for Oral Health, as part of the national campaign launched by two dentists' unions in Beirut and Tripoli, many activities were carried out, especially since tooth decay is the third global epidemic. The meeting was held at the Faculty of Technology of Akkar Balamand University in Issam Fares, which included educational lectures. Professor Mounir Doumt said that "Oral health can not be separated from the general health of the human being because complications of oral diseases reach 95%." The campaign started in Akkar this year after a press conference held at the Association of Dentists in Beirut. Stakeholders emphasized the importance of choosing foods suitable for oral health, such as a healthy diet and avoiding soft drinks and crackers, which increase the incidence of tooth decay, the third epidemic in the world affects about 80% of the population and affects 60 to 90% of school children. The representative of the Ministry of Education pointed out that, in public school schools, all that was sold was strictly controlled, as this prevented the sale of anything that was unhealthy for the child, and he wanted to generalize this principle to private schools. The delegation thanked Ms. Itani for her cooperation, noting that "the campaign continues on all Lebanese territories through the unions of the two dentists".
