To approve the new amendments to the Health Practice Regulations

The Saudi Ministry of Health periodically reviews the regulations, updates them and updates them according to new developments and comments received from relevant departments.

In this context, Dr. Tawfiq Alrabiah, Minister of Health, approved the amendment of the Regulations for the Execution of the Health Professions.

The Minister's decision to confirm the coming into force of the new regulation as of the date of publication in the Official Journal, "last Friday".

The list included changes and additions, including: requiring the health practitioner to introduce themselves to the patient, to display their name, specialty and role played, as well as the treatment plan at the beginning of the case.

The amendments also required health practitioners recruited from government agencies and operating companies to register in the electronic registration of licensed practitioners with the Ministry of Health and to respect the rights of patients and their families, in accordance with the principles of legitimacy, approved medical standards and all instructions received. The ministry and the competent authorities in this regard, while the previous list obliged them to respect the rights of patients in accordance with the principles of legitimacy, medical standards only, without including their relatives.

The health practitioner, who is on duty, was also required to continue providing patient and patient care until the next shift, in accordance with the Regulations Implementing the Amended Health Professions Regulations, introduced a few days earlier.

The regulation specifies the duration of the license for the health practitioner working in the private health sector for a similar duration, in addition to taking into account the mechanism of treatment of child abuse in case of domestic violence, adopted by a decision of the Health Services Board No. 32 of 22 Dhu al-Qa'da 1428 AH.

The new regulation emphasized that when a doctor suspects a case, a criminal incident or toxic effects, the medical record and the information it contains must be treated confidentially.
