To store and recover forgotten passwords. Microsoft is launching a new feature for its Authenticator app, today, Sunday, February 7, 2021, 5:06 am

Microsoft, the US software company, released a new feature in the Microsoft Authenticator app that allows its users to store passwords and usernames and retrieve them at any time, solving a major issue for users, which is forgetting passwords and having difficulty recovering them.
According to Win Central, the new functionality of the Authenticator app will allow users of Android phones, iPhones, iPads and Windows computers to synchronize their passwords on Edge browsers and Google Chrome.

The feature will also allow all users’ passwords to be stored on the Edge browser and retrieved at any time by registering an account with Microsoft, which will prevent users from remembering and typing words again.

Microsoft has indicated that by enabling the store and retrieve passwords feature, users will need authentication to protect them by entering a PIN code or requesting entry via Touch ID or Face ID.

Microsoft Authenticator app password storage and recovery feature will be available on Android devices starting today, in addition to the ability to download the app from the App Store for iPhone and iPad for iOS 11 or later, and it can also be downloaded from Google Play for Android phones.

Reports have revealed that Microsoft will dispense with passwords starting next year 2021, upon entering its various websites and services, in order to avoid repeated cyberattacks, and to use its various services such as facial recognition technologies, fingerprints, scanners, as well as a camera as an alternative.
