With each new update of the iOS operating system, Apple introduces new features and tools to improve the user experience and facilitate interaction with the phone. Despite the great specs of iPhones, there are other features that are not widely used that are already on iPhone phones but need to be enabled from settings. Therefore, we will take a look at the features that the iPhone can do, but many overlook them.
Volume buttons
The camera app on iPhone phones allows you to capture images from the volume buttons. But you can also press and hold the volume down button to start recording a “QuickTake” video, or capture successive frames by long pressing the volume up button. But this feature must first be enabled by going to settings and then selecting the camera and selecting the option “Use volume for burst on”.
Back button
When you open many apps on the phone or even websites in the Safari browser, you will need to use the back button in the upper left corner to go back to the previous page. It can be boring and time consuming. But by long pressing the back button, a list of all pages will appear. You can drag it left or right to choose the page you want to return to.
Contact lenses
You can also take advantage of the eye contact feature during FaceTime calls to make it seem like you’re actually looking into the other person’s eyes, while you are looking at the screen instead of the front camera lens. And this feature is enabled through the “FaceTime” settings and turning on the eye contact feature.
Click on the back of the phone
You can also add two new buttons on your iPhone using the “Back Tap” function, which allows certain tasks to be linked when you double or triple tap on the back of the phone. By doing this, you can, for example, take a screenshot or go to the homepage and the like, depending on what you specify. To activate this feature, open the settings and choose accessibility, then click on the touch then on the “Back Tap” and select the tasks you want when you click two or three.
Intercom function
Apple launched the “Intercom” feature, which allows you to send and receive voice messages on all Apple devices without using an external application, Internet network, or data packet. But to take advantage of this feature, you must have at least one “HomePod” smart speaker. To activate it, open the home app and click on the home logo, then Settings and choose Intercom.
