It was agreed that Tunisia would become the capital of the Arab Confederation in 2020 during a meeting Monday evening with the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Rooney Trabelsi, President of the Arab Organization for Bandar Bin Fahd Al-Fahid tourism, accompanied by a high-level delegation on the sidelines of his participation in the 30th session of the League of Arab States held in Tunis.
It was also agreed to send an office of the Arab Tourism Organization to Tunis, which will be located at the Ministry of Tourism and Handicraft, to connect the countries of the Middle East, Gulf and Maghreb, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to advance joint work between the Organization and the Ministry in the context of the immediate interaction recommended by the final communiqué of the League of Arab States Summit, which highlighted importance of the economic dimension of the concerted action of the Arab countries.
The Minister of Tourism reviewed the reality and perspectives of the tourism sector and its importance to the national economy, highlighting the essential role of the organization in linking the different Arab tourist destinations in order to develop the exchange of tourist delegations and promote joint investment projects, as well as supervise training courses bringing together tires and professionals from different Arab countries.
For his part, the president of the Arab Tourism Organization, Bandar Bin Fahad al-Fahid, expressed his "gratitude for the meeting of Rooney Trabelsi, who has a good impression of a field minister with significant experience in the tourism sector ".
He also highlighted the role of the Organization in implementing the decisions of the League of Arab States and in collaboration with the various Arab countries to implement the various decisions on the ground, considering that Tunisia is the only country in the world. 39; one of the most important tourist destinations for Arab tourists and that she can put her expertise to the service of sister countries in the framework of a joint Arab cooperation.
The meeting was an opportunity to further explore ways to develop a plan of action with the Organization to develop Arab tourism in general, according to the same author.
