Turkey wants to restore diplomatic relations with Arab countries

Sources from Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath reported today, Tuesday, that Turkey had again requested to hold a meeting with Egypt in the presence of senior officials on the Turkish side.

According to the sources, Turkey has expressed willingness to send a high-ranking Turkish delegation including diplomats and security officials to Cairo. She also proposed to hold a meeting on security in the presence of representatives of Cyprus and Greece.

Turkey’s exit from Libya

For its part, Egypt insisted on the need to suspend the agreements reached by Ankara with the Libyan government of national accord, and also joined the discussion on the exit of Turkish forces from Libya and the absence of bases. Turkish-Libyan military to begin with. any dialogue in the future.

She indicated that Ankara did not wish to suspend the agreements concluded with the government of reconciliation, in particular those concerning the Eastern Mediterranean.

She explained that Turkey wanted to fully restore diplomatic relations with a number of Arab countries, led by Egypt.

The sources also revealed that the Turkish intelligence chief is the one in charge of the negotiation file with Cairo and pending files such as the Eastern Mediterranean and Libya.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşolu said last Wednesday that Turkey and Egypt could negotiate the demarcation of the eastern Mediterranean borders if conditions allow.
