A new study found that most Android antivirus applications from the "Google Play" store were a waste of time and money, and that some of them made your phone more vulnerable to malware.
The Austrian anti-virus laboratory, iV Compavarvez, has tested 250 anti-virus apps on the Google Play app store against thousands of malicious apps and discovered that only 80 of the 250 users had discovered the minimum of these harmful apps.
In less than one-tenth of the applications tested, the lab was able to monitor all the malicious applications tested, while more than two-thirds failed to achieve a 30% rate, announced the laboratory in a press release.
