Al-Thawadi stressed that during the tournament, billions of people will be able to become closely acquainted with the Middle East and the Arab world, noting that “this will be the first time for many to experience our culture”.
Al-Thawadi expressed his aspirations for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar to be a “meeting place where people come together where all are welcome”, and for the tournament to help “build bridges of mutual understanding between cultures around the world and to present a true picture of the Arab world and the Middle East region ”.
