The Fuel Price Watch Committee approved an increase in gasoline prices in August 2021 with a slight increase in gasoline, ranging from 11 to 12 fils, while diesel prices only increased by 3 threads per liter compared to last month.

Fuel distribution companies announced the new prices, with implementation from Sunday August 1, 2021, as the new price included a 5% value added tax.

The price of a liter of “98” super gasoline increased by 11 fils from 2.47 dirhams in July to 2.58 dirhams in August, and the price of a liter of “95” gasoline increased by 12 fils from 2 , 35 dirhams in July to 2.47 dirhams in August “E Plus” “91” increased by 11 fils, from 2.28 in July to 2.39 dirhams in August.

The price of a liter of diesel also increased by 3 fils per liter, from 2.42 dirhams in July to 2.45 dirhams in August.

This new increase comes in the wake of the stability of fuel prices at low rates for 11 consecutive months and after registering a similar stability during the months of January and February.

The fuel price standards adopted by the Ministry of Energy and Industry are determined monthly, based on global average oil prices, rising or falling, after adding the operating costs of distribution companies. .

It should be noted that prices fell last April by around a quarter of a dirham per liter, recording the largest drop of its kind at the monthly level since the price release in August 2015.
