Authorities in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh state have ordered students in grades 1 through 8 to be banned from attending schools until September 6 due to the spread of a viral fever unknown in the area, the symptoms of which are similar to those of dengue. but associated with a higher mortality rate.

And the “Times of India” newspaper reported that the epicenter of the outbreak is in Firozabad, where around 50 people have died, including at least 32 children, as well as 12 deaths in Mathura and eight in Mainburi.

Symptoms of the disease are a high temperature, a sudden drop in the number of platelets, and severe dehydration in the body.

For his part, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said special medical teams have been dispatched to areas where the outbreak has been reported, while blood samples from patients are being reviewed.

And he added: “We will study this disease, and we will take urgent measures to deal with it.”

Some doctors believe that we are talking about an epidemic of dengue fever in its chronic and severe form. This disease is transmitted by mosquitoes.

It is reported that India is currently experiencing the rainy season, when mosquitoes and midges are increasing very dramatically.

For reference, dengue is a viral infection transmitted by mosquito bites, and it spreads in Southeast Asia.

According to the World Health Organization, there is no specific treatment for dengue fever and vaccines against it can only be given to people who have had a fever at least once.
