An American jury concluded that one of the most widely used herbicides in the world was a "key factor" in cancer. The Bayer group of this pesticide has strongly rejected claims that its Glavosate Roundab product contains Carcinogens.

But the San Francisco jury unanimously ruled he had helped cause lymphoma in Edwin Hardiman, a resident of California, while the next phase of the trial would review Bayer's liability and assess the damage.

During this phase, which begins Wednesday, Hardiman's lawyers should present evidence that demonstrates Bayer's efforts to influence scientists, regulators and the public about the safety of its products.

"We are confident that the evidence in the second phase will appear," said the German company, which acquired Roundab as part of its acquisition of US competitor Monsanto under a $ 66 billion contract. Monsanto's behavior was appropriate and the company should not be responsible for Hrdiman's cancer.

The case is the second of about 112,000 lawsuits filed in the US, and another California national received $ 289 million in August, after a state jury found that Rondab had caused cancer This adjustment was subsequently reduced to $ 78 million and is being appealed.
