Werder Bremen have qualified for the quarter-finals of the German Cup thanks to a 4-2 win over Borussia Dortmund on penalties after a 3-3 draw in overtime on Tuesday.
Milut Rachica headed to the visitors in the fifth minute before Marco Ruiz equalized in the 45th minute for Dortmund.
The draw continued to dominate the match until the final whistle, so both teams extended an additional 30 minutes in half.
Cristian Policic advanced to Dortmund in the 105th minute to give Claudio Pizarro a draw in three minutes.
Dortmund was again promoted by the Moroccan Ashraf Hakimi in the 113th minute, but the guests took advantage of the third goalkeeper's presence to hit the main goalkeeper in Dortmund.
The match was played by Dortmund goalkeeper Eric Oleschlagel against his former team, who failed to help his team in the shot at goal that smiled in Bremen with four goals.
