Ajax Amsterdam's hopes of getting a title played in Eindhoven were obtained after a 2 to 6 home defeat at Feyenoord Rotterdam on Sunday.
Ajax, which lost its second defeat of the season, now has 47 points in second place, five points behind leader Eindhoven.
For his part, Feyenoord, who found the victories he missed in the last three stages of the tournament, was 39 points but remained in third place.
Ajax took the lead early in the eighth minute with Lassa Shawnie before Jens Torrenstra equalized for Feyenoord in the 16th minute.
Stefan Bergius added the second goal to Feyenoord in the 31st minute, but the owners' joy of grounding progress was short-lived after recording the Moroccan equalizer goal Hakim Ziyash for Ajax in the 33rd minute.
Veteran Robin van Persie returned to Feyenoord after scoring the third goal in the 42nd minute.
Van Persie continued his career with a fourth goal for Feyenoord and his second goal in the 56th minute. Teammates Toni Trinidad and Vilasina and Yasin Ayoub added the fifth and sixth goals in the 75th and 84th minutes.
