NEW YORK (Reuters Health) – Taking vitamin C tablets twice a day can help millions of people with type 2 diabetes by reducing blood sugar and blood pressure in their body, a new Australian study finds. According to the Daily Mail, researchers at Deakin University in Melbourne found that taking two cheap doses of vitamin C at 500 mg after meals reduced blood sugar, with a 36 percent reduction in the number of volunteers.
"The antioxidant properties of vitamin C can help withstand high levels of free radicals in diabetic patients with certain associated diseases, such as high blood pressure, which has also dropped," said the author Principal Glenn Wadley.
