Doha, Qatar – The Israeli national anthem was played in Doha, Qatar, after an Israeli player won a gold medal at the World Gymnastics Championships in Qatar.
The official Arabic Twitter account for Israel, a video clip reproducing for the moment the Israeli national anthem and the coronation of the winner, is titled "a great achievement for Israeli sport".
In the video, the Israeli flag came in first after Alex Chatilov's win, while the Philippines and Spain were second and third.
In recent months, Israeli officials and delegations have visited a number of Arab countries, including Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, leading to campaigns against social networking sites, denouncing these visits and rejecting normalization between the Arab countries and Israel.
