Saudi Arabia's Al-Nasr beat Qatar 2-1 on Monday in the first leg of the AFC Champions League quarter-final.

Al-Nasr managed to win despite the absence of star and striker Abdel Razzaq Hamdallah and a late result, but the options will remain open in the second leg.

Ali Asad opened the scoring for Al Sadd, who suffered his first loss to Spanish coach Xavi Hernandez (21).

Al Sadd improved in the second half and became more threatening to win, but Brazilian Juliano, one of the stars of the match, managed to snatch the winning goal (72).
