Al-Marsad Journal: RIA Novosti revealed a video showing the collision of a helicopter belonging to the organizers of the Dakar Desert Rally 2021 with the Russian truck “Kamaz Master”, during the 12th and final stage of the rally on Friday.
The video showed the helicopter approaching the truck driven by Russian pilot Anton Shibalov.
It seems that the helicopter pilot made a mistake in calculating the safety distance he had to leave with the “Kamaz Caster” truck, which jumped in the air a little after having passed over a bump of sand, hitting the bottom of the helicopter with the roof of the truck.
The roof of Shibalov’s truck suffered some damage, and despite this he continued the last stage until the end, to reach the podium in second place behind his compatriot Dmitry Sotnikov, who obtained the first place of the general .
The helicopter pilot and Shepalov managed to control his vehicle and the accident, which could have been horrendous, went off safely.
