Watspab warned on its website that its application for instant messaging would soon be no longer possible on some older operating systems.
The company said its application could no longer be used after December 31, 2018 for owners of Nokia Series 40 phones, one of the most used mobile phones in the world.
Watts also announced that it would not support Android 2.3.7 and iOS 7 smartphones and their earlier versions after February 1, 2020.
She explained that it would no longer be possible to create new accounts in the old operating systems mentioned and that some features might stop working at any time.
