He pointed out that one of the dangers that threatens the identity of today's Arab child is the tendency of some educators and parents to love children in languages ​​other than their own Arabic language, for example, they speak English to promote themselves in the context of a blind tradition, which leads to many things, including the decline of reading and reading in Arabic and the weakness of the distribution of the Arabic book.

He added that "the founders of Arab children's culture have not managed to find characters that are role models for the child of today, while the" Child finds many attractive personalities in other languages ​​and cultures different from our culture.

Amr said: "This failure comes from the introduction of Arab personalities who attract our children, although our history and civilization of leaders, greats, scientists and colleagues do not appear in another civilization"

He emphasized that responsibility was the responsibility of parents, educators, authors of books and curricula, and those who worked in cultural institutions with Arab children.

Gamal Amr said about the reality of the children's book and the author of children's literature in the Arab world that "the relationship between the publishing industry and the media intended for the # 39; Arab child needs a serious position, in which the relationship is again established between the authors and publishers, and between the publisher and the reader "He said.

He referred to the growing complaint of the perpetrators of the so-called "acquiescence contracts" that govern their relationship with the publisher, they only have to comply with the terms or conditions. 39, refrain from publication, pointing out that the editor complains of the weak desire of children to buy paper books, forcing all parties Put the child's interest in the center of attention and together seek to overcome all obstacles and to provide a distinct and diverse media to the Arab child.

Gamal Amr said that emergency factors had led to an active movement in the publication of the children's book in the Arab world, although this movement did not reach the required level.

He explained that one of the factors that favored the active movement in the field of children's publishing, the major competitions in reading and reading, such as the challenge of reading initiated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, urged the parties to the children's book publishing to produce more.

"Nevertheless, the form and content of the published Arabic children's books remain modest and inferior to what they should be."

He revealed that the e-publishing process has taken up a considerable amount of space for publication and that sites for children's books are increasing day by day and that there are more and more people interested in providing separate content.

It is worth mentioning that Mohamed Gamal Amr, poet and writer of Jordanian children, has presented about 250 authors in the field of children's literature, published his writings in Jordan, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates and has received numerous awards , including the King Abdullah II Prize for Creativity, 2001 and the Abdul Hameed Shoman Prize in 2007.
