Fingerprint locking is an additional security feature for WhatsApp, which allows Android users to use the fingerprint sensor to unlock WhatsApp.
The new feature allows Android users to respond to incoming messages or calls via the notification list, even when the app is closed, similar to the iOS authentication feature.
To try the "Fingerprint Lock" feature, you need to download the latest version of WhatsApp (2.19.221). This lock feature option should appear in the Privacy tab of the application settings.
