At a press conference ahead of the Merseyside summit on Saturday between Liverpool and Everton, Klopp was upset when asked why Mohamed Salah had not been sufficiently appreciated for his important role this season.
Klopp said in response to a reporter’s question: “You shouldn’t ask me why he hasn’t received the recognition. I don’t understand why he isn’t getting the praise he deserves.”
He added: “It’s not possible to explain why he hasn’t received enough appreciation, but he gets it here at Liverpool, and we fully appreciate him.”
Klopp went on to say: “Salah’s numbers and offers don’t lie and they are enough to make him happy,” according to the “Liverpool Echo” site.
Salah managed to become the first Liverpool player to score at least 20 goals in four different seasons since the legendary Ian Rush in early February.
The Egyptian star also won the Best Player Award for Liverpool last December.
The Egyptian star has a contract with Liverpool until 2023, when he joined the ranks of the “Reds” in the summer of 2017, and the English club have paid Roma nearly 50 million euros in order to terminate the contract with him.
