An expert on the oil markets raised the issue of a rise in the price of a barrel of oil to the level of $ 100 next year, as the oil markets are under pressure due to the Corona virus crisis.

Amrita Sen, chief oil analyst at Energy Aspects, said in an interview with Bloomberg that oil prices could reach $ 100 a barrel next year thanks to “very easy monetary policy.”

In turn, Gennady Shamal, head of the Association of Oil and Gas Producers in Russia, said that the price of oil reaching $ 100 a barrel in the near future is a fantasy, and the price of a barrel of oil at $ 60 is a comfortable question for the Russian budget.

He explained that the comfortable price to produce shale oil for US companies is around $ 45 a barrel, and when the price goes above the $ 60 mark, additional oil is put on the market, which pushes down the price.

Brent was trading today at $ 60.50 a barrel, and Brent rose yesterday for the ninth consecutive session, and crude is heading for the longest wave of gains since January 2019.
