The decision of the Minister of Education to restrict the admission of the universities concerned for this year to the three implementation phases mentioned in the executive plan included adherence to that the acceptance of students in e-learning programs and distance does not exceed (100%) of the number of students admitted to attendance programs for the same specialization, and that admission for this is general in degree programs only for the following majors: (Sales – Marketing – Banking – Insurance – General administration) until the current stage is assessed and the impact measured.
The education minister’s decision stipulated a commitment to provide e-learning and distance education programs across university departments of college programs, meeting e-education standards for higher education in the Kingdom, as well as compliance with the list of licenses. provide e-learning and training programs approved by the National Center for E-Learning, and act accordingly in the unified Saudi classification of educational levels and specializations, with the upload of a perception of the programs specific proposed in accordance with the development needs imposed by the needs of the local and global labor market for the stages of diploma, license and master for the committee formed in this regard.
The decision of the Minister of Education provided for the formation of a committee headed by the Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation to undertake periodic monitoring tasks, guarantee the quality of the programs offered, coordinate with universities in this regard, and submit a management report every semester on the progress of the educational process for each of the e-learning and distance education programs.The committee is also concerned with recommending the approval of new programs or suspension of existing programs, and the recommendation to open admission to e-learning and distance education programs at planned universities, or universities that will be added in the future, in addition the recommendation to stop programs that do not comply with the controls and standards stipulated in this decision.
