Witness: Ghosn hid part of his salary in “Nissan” so as not to leave “Renault”

Harry Nada, the executive director of the Japanese company “Nissan”, declared in court in Tokyo that Carlos Ghosn was hiding his real salary at “Nissan” in order to avoid forcing the French side to leave him “Renault”.

Nada testified in the trial of former Nissan CEO Greg Kelly accused of helping Ghosn hide 9.3 billion yen ($ 89 million) from his income and financial compensation more than eight years later that Japan implemented new rules requiring managers to report payments that exceeded one billion yen.

Ghosn was one of the foremost leaders in the auto industry, chaired by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance.

He denied any wrongdoing and said he was the victim of a coup d’état on the board of directors by former colleagues at “Nissan” who feared seeking to merge “Nissan” and “Renault”.
