The Malaysian company also expected a price increase for its products due to the suspension of some of its laboratories due to the outbreak of Corona virus infection in the country.
The “CNA” TV station quoted Malaysian company chief Lim Weichai as saying, “Clearly we should expect disruption as prices rise.”
The director of Top Glove confirmed that “production will not be transferred to other factories, as production is expected to return in the coming weeks”.
Top Glove was forced to temporarily shut down around 20 of its factories in Selangor state this month, due to the high number of corona patients among its employees.
In addition, eight other companies operate with a production system not exceeding 20% of the usual volume.
Each year, Top Glove of Malaysia exports nearly 90 billion pairs of disposable gloves to more than 190 countries, representing almost a quarter of the global demand for these products that are critically needed today.
