A Chinese tech leak has revealed new details about the powerful camera expected for the Xiaomi Mi 11 phone, and apparently the device will break the record for the number of megapixels a single smartphone can have so far.
According to information from a tweet shared by the Digital Chat Station technical manager on Twitter, Xiaomi Mi 11 will receive an additional 48 megapixel sensor for the camera with a pixel of 0.8 μm.
The smartphone’s main sensor will likely be 108 megapixels, which means that the total resolution of the two expected Xi cameras will be 156 megapixels.
Test results of the Xiaomi Mi 11 phone on the Geekbench performance platform also revealed that it was powered by a Snapdragon 875 processor, paired with 6 GB of random memory, and running Android 11, according to the report from the gizmochina site.
There is also no indication of the name of this improved camera model, but it is assumed that it will be Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro.
Finally, the new series of phones are expected to launch in January or at most February 2021, and they will be among the first phones to feature a new Qualcomm 5nm chip.
