The provisional management committee of Zamalek, led by Emad Abdel Aziz, has ruled on the first decision after the team’s defeat to its host Esperance Tunisia (1-3), yesterday, Saturday, in the group stage of the African Champions League.
The sports website “kooora”, citing a source responsible for the Egyptian team’s mission in Tunisia, said that Abdel Aziz had decided to impose financial fines on the players, due to the defeat which occupied the position of Zamalek in the tournament.
The provisional committee announced that it was in permanent session in order to correct the course of the team and to study the situation in all its aspects.
With this defeat, Zamalek blocked at two points, in third place in the third group classification, 5 points behind the leader Esperance, 3 points ahead of the runner-up of Mouloudia Algeria.
