Most portable projectors are a master class when it comes to tradeoffs in functionality, image quality, and disappointment. Every now and then, however, there comes one that exhausts all expectations and delivers great picture and sound and performs as it should. It’s the Xgimi Mogo Pro, which typically sells for $ 549. But only today (Sunday March 28) you can get the Xgimi Mogo Pro for $ 449 with promo code 2021EASTER – $ 100 discount.

The Mogo Pro is around six inches tall and can play for up to four hours thanks to its rechargeable battery. Its built-in Harman Kardon speakers sound great, and they’re loud enough for rooms like a bedroom – but don’t expect them to fill a living room, basement, or other home theater space.

Likewise, don’t expect to use it in a well-lit room. CNET’s Rick Broida worked with the Mogo Pro and reported that while he found the overall picture quality to be excellent, the LED light source only manages 300 ANSI lumens. That’s bigger than most spotlights this size, but it still means you need little or no ambient lighting to really enjoy the show.

The projector offers one key feature that really sets it apart from the crowd: a native resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels). Many cheaper projectors claim “1080p support”, but that just means they can accommodate 1080p sources and output a lower resolution image – sometimes a little lower, like 858×480.

The Mogo Pro also runs the Android TV operating system, which is close to Roku as the best streaming operating system. To be clear, it’s not just Android, it’s Android TV – and that makes all the difference. It has a beautiful, easy-to-navigate, remote-friendly user interface with virtually any streaming channel you could want – HBO Max, Disney Plus, even Apple TV – just one download.

It’s a great little spotlight that strikes way above its weight. But the deal ends today.
