Saved By The Bell’s Lark Voorhies says a cameo on the show’s reboot helped with his schizoaffective disorder.

Diagnosed with the disease, which is a combination of schizophrenia and a mood disorder, Voorhies was honest about the “ many competing voices ” in her head during a Dr Oz appearance in February.

Returning to Thursday’s talk show to talk about her progress, the 46-year-old actress, who first rose to fame as Lisa Marie Turtle on SBTB in the ’90s, credited her appearance with Oz for helping her land the role of rebirth.

“I have to thank you for the wonderful exposure of your show which allowed SBTB producers to rethink my value for production,” she said.

“It’s always so good to be understood and to be able to come home! Yes, SBTB is at home.

Initially snubbed of the reboot, Voorhies opened up about the heartbreaking February situation.

“ I have to admit I felt a bit despised and hurt when I wasn’t invited to be a part of the Saved by the Bell reunion and other cast member events, but of course, I also realized that this puzzling disorder may have played a major role in this factual decision, ”she said.

What is schizoaffective thought disorder?

Schizoaffective Thinking Disorder is a mental health disorder characterized by a combination of symptoms of schizophrenia and mood disorders.

Symptoms of the disorder range from hallucinations and delusions to depression and mania in combination.

There are two types of STDs, including the bipolar type and the depressive type. One includes manic and depressive episodes, and the other includes only episodes of major depression.

Although symptoms vary from person to person, the disorder is usually characterized by an episode of major manic or depressed mood and a two-week period of psychotic symptoms.

The causes of the disorder can vary from hereditary factors or can be induced by stressful events.

After speaking about his struggles, Lark revealed alongside his mother Tricia on Thursday that there had been ‘so much progress’ with her diagnosis as she said ‘it was amazing’.

She said the shoot for SBTB was “ very exciting, ” while detailing how it went.

“I got a call from Elizabeth Berkley, who plays Jessie. She sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers. And we had a lot of fun shooting it.

Speaking about dealing with her disorder during filming, she said: ‘I put it in a bag and I leave it in my room and I go out and I do the lines and we do our thing,’ while saying that playing is what she is’ supposed to do. ‘

She added: ‘The show comes together and everything is really amazing. It’s a beautiful environment at Saved by the Bell with the cast and crew. Everyone got along very well.

Her mother Tricia said it was a joy to see her daughter return to work.

“It’s something she wanted to do and she’s supposed to do it, it’s what she can do.

“ Despite her confusion, she is able to rise above and take on the role of an actress. We memorize her lines and perform them very well, which she has proven on set.
