Take a chair, children. Now turn that bad boy up and squat at Max's restaurant, because NBCUniversal's next streaming service, Peacock, is restarting "Saved By the Bell" – and Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley will return as actors.
Peacock's "Saved by the Bell" reboot comes from Universal Television and will be written and produced by Tracey Wigfield. Peter Engel and Franco Bario will be the executive producers. Very good pedigree there, because Engel was an executive producer of "Saved By the Bell", as well as spin-offs from "The College Years" and "The New Class". Bario produced on each of these three series.
Here is the perfect logline of the new version:
When California governor Zack Morris gets into a bustle for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes to send the affected students to the state's best-performing schools, including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives Bayside's over-privileged children an indispensable and hilarious dose of reality.
Yeah, Zack is the friggin governor.

So, ah, does that mean that Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who has played Morris in all TV series and movies "Saved Bell the Bell", will also come back for the reboot? All that one person who knows of plans has told us is that she "always works on agreements".
A representative of Gosselaar and a spokesperson for NBCUniversal did not answer our question about his potential involvement.
Lopez, who will certainly be back, played the jock and the child of the army (we will not call him a "snotty," he was nice), A.C. Slater. Berkley played the super-successful and feminist Jessie Spano. The two characters date from much of the original series, as a result of a group of six very close friends trying to survive adolescence while they were attending Bayside High School in Palisades, California.
For now, Universal and Peacock are playing the rest of the details near the vest. We are hopeless romantics, however, and hope that Slater and Jessie will be married – or at least about to rekindle an old flame.
