Dustin Diamond, most remembered as the nerdy sidekick “Screech” of Saved by the Bell, fights stage 4 cancer, according to reports.
Diamond visited a Florida hospital over the weekend after suffering pain throughout her body from shingles and a general feeling of being unwell. The cancer was later discovered and he is currently undergoing his first round of chemotherapy in hopes of fending off it.
The actor had an irregular career after Saved by the Bell ended in 2000. He appeared in several low budget movies, made cameos on television and appeared in several reality shows. Her only triumph was an appearance on the reality show Celebrity boxing on Fox, where he won his match convincingly.
Diamond also wrote a revealing 2009 book, Behind the bell, who detailed the dirt on the show’s behind-the-scenes antics. Perhaps this is why Peacock’s reboot of the show which debuted in November 2020 didn’t ask him to return.
