Ah Scalebound. Remember Scalebound? According to a new report, the RPG on the theme of developing dragons as exclusive Xbox One by Platinum Games could well make a comeback, more specifically as a title on Nintendo Switch. The latest gossip comes from NintendoInsider, which claims that Scalebound is coming back.
"I trust my sources to point out that I understand that Scalebound was resurrected as a project to be published as an exclusive Nintendo Switch," reads the report.
It's worth noting that earlier this month, Game Informer hinted at Kinda Funny Games on a "game considered dead as the Nintendo game revives." Apparently, Scalebound is called title.
That would be very good news: when it was announced that Scalebound was following the same path as the other giant and scaly things, in 2017, the fan base was incredibly upset.
"After much deliberation, Microsoft Studios has made the decision to stop the production of Scalebound," wrote a representative at the time. "We are working hard to bring an incredible range of games to our fans this year, including Halo Wars 2, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves and other great experiences. "
Microsoft has cited the "commercial decisions" as being the reason for the cancellation of Scalebound, but of course, this is not always the best news for those expecting an epic action at the helm of a dragon.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that Nintendo is interfering to save a Platinum Games title from extinction. Bayonetta 2, initially under development by Sega, was left half finished and could not be funded until Nintendo arrives and agrees to publish and publish it on the Wii U.
It would not be surprising to see Nintendo do the same with Scalebound and make it an exclusive Nintendo Switch, alongside the next Bayonetta 3.
Of course, until the official announcement by Nintendo or Platinum Games, write a report like this with a pinch of salt, but I would be extremely happy to see it coming back.
