Last week, various retailers restocked the PlayStation 5 after incredible demand, but one internet scalper managed to pre-order 2,000 units himself.
The scalper – who goes by Carnage – took to Twitter to show he had pre-ordered the PS5 consoles from UK retailer GAME, saying, “It gets easier every time.” Naturally, the internet was outraged by the post, as many gamers tried but failed to get the pre-orders on their own. Many have criticized Carnage for his actions and expressed dismay, with one user saying, “At this point [it’s] it’s not worth trying anymore ”and another commenting that it’s“ absolute ***** ”.
Some users have also reached out to GAME, asking them to cancel preorders in hopes of preventing scalpers like Carnage from taking advantage of the system, prompting a company spokesperson to respond with an official statement explaining that all orders are subject to checks. “Right now, those orders are still pre-orders and as such no payments have been taken from customers yet,” the spokesperson said. “Payments will begin once our order checks have been completed.” However, there can be no assurance that Carnage orders will actually be canceled.
Carnage robots are doing better than ever @GAMEdigitalstopping the PS5 this morning Very sad. I really want a PS5 but I refuse to fund scalpers, so I’ll have to wait it seems. pic.twitter.com/BsvMOwSyQZ

@GAMEHelps this morning at 10:09 am, when we click on buy digital PS5, I get a message saying out of stock even though others are buying them (including 2000 bought by carnage robots). This is ridiculous, was 10 on point and wasting time trying different methods

They can’t stop them, this carnage will find just another loophole, it’s those kind of people destroying websites for people who can’t get their hands on the PS5 they need to have a little bit of Respect for others
