Asked during the event if his presence indicated that he supported Biden's presidential campaign, Scaramucci said he was still a registered Republican.

"I have not changed my support for Vice President Biden," Scaramucci told reporters, who publicly called on the GOP to find a replacement for Trump. "But I'm going to work to find a candidate to challenge Trump, because he's lost his reason, and we need to talk about it, we have to bring in someone before the loss of the 2020 election."

The comments of Scaramucci, ousted from his post of director of communication at the White House in July 2017 after a chaotic 11-day stay, were uttered while he continued to talk publicly about the problems he was seeing with the Trump Presidency.

The Trump supporter, who had already expressed his point of view, said earlier this month that the president would be attacking everyone, including "the whole country". He has since called on Republicans to rule on Trump's "depredations."

"Challenge the culture of fear that he has created and publicly publishes concerns that you express easily in private," he wrote in a Washington Post editorial last week. "Keep your patriotism and help save the country from its depredations."

On Saturday, Biden traveled to Southampton, New York, to attend the Blue Dream Gala, an event hosted by the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons. During a speech, Biden thanked the Greek community and the Greek Orthodox leaders for the support they offered to his family after the death of his son Beau of Cancer in 2015, according to the Huffington Post.

He later stated that America was in a "battle for the soul of our nation".

"I think we are in a battle for who we are, the battle that defines our values, our fundamental rights that we all share … that the birthright of every child of God is treated with dignity and committed to one another. the others, "he said.

A spokesman for Biden told The Hill that the Greek Orthodox Hamptons Church was going to donate 70 percent of this year's revenue to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. In 2016, the parish honored the Beau Biden Foundation as a beneficiary.
