HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – He's a familiar face with a voice that everyone will recognize.

Brad Jordan, better known as Houston's hip-hop group Scarface, Geto Boys, grew up in South Acres. Brought up by his grandmother, it all started here in District D.

"I have a representative from this city all over the world and she has done so much for me, I feel like I owe it to this city," Jordan said.

So much so that last year he discussed the possibility of running for Houston City Council in four years.

But then Councilor Dwight Boykins decided to run for mayor. He then turned to Instagram.

"What turned into a thought has turned into 27,000 people saying," Yes, "said Jordan." This was a momentum of momentum, "he said. love overflowing with love for me to step out of my comfort zone and get into the fight. "

It's a different role, but he's ready to attack, hoping to clean up the neighborhood in which he grew up.

"We need new blood in politics," Jordan said.

In the end, he hopes to inspire many more people to dream big and succeed.

"Who would ever have thought that a child from South Acres installed in a terraced house would have fans, only to come back and pose for the city in a whole different way?"
