Schiff warns of the Mueller report's restraint: "We will get to the bottom of things"

Schiff, appearing on "This Week" on ABC, has threatened to subpoena the report, to bring Mueller to testify before Congress and to prosecute Trump's administration in court if the findings are not not made public.

"We will get to the bottom of things," said Schiff. "We will share this information with the public, and if the president is serious about all his requests for exemption, he should welcome the release of the report."

Mueller investigates Russia's interference in the 2016 election and on a possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow. Upon completion of the special advocate's investigation, Mueller is required to submit a written report to the Attorney General.

Attorney General William Barr, who was confirmed earlier this month, did not, however, decide in his confirmation hearing to release Mueller's final report.

Schiff said Sunday that Barr would have a "tarnished inheritance" he was attempting to "bury" part of the report.

"If he tried to restrain, to try to bury any part of this report, it would be his legacy, and it will be a tarnished legacy," he said. . "So, I think there will be tremendous pressure not only on the department but on the Attorney General for it to be available."
