The oddity of the Friday night marathon continued until Saturday's match between the Dodgers and the D-backs. Do you want a lot of dongs, two position throwing players, and all this in just over three hours? So that was the game for you.

The beginnings of Kenta Maeda's season started shaking. Jarrod Dyson made a rare home run, a header shot in the center of the right field against the right-handed veteran. Dyson scored just two points in 237 appearances at the plate last year.

Joc Pederson immediately responded with an opposing solo dong of Zack Godley in the lower half of the first. Pederson has already hit three homers in his first three games. I am happy that they have not traded for marginal prospects this season.

The third run was very expensive for the defenders. Godley made a big mistake by throwing the ball in the foreground on a Maeda sacrifice.

Maeda is the first Dodger star to enter the seventh inning this year. Unfortunately, Adam Jones enjoys it with a solo circuit.

Despite his three solo tours that he allowed, Maeda ate a few innings and held the D-backs hitters almost overnight. His last line: 3 R, 5 H, 6 K, 2 BB, 106 throws (68 shots). He made almost as many changes (39) as fast balls (44). Maeda was cheered on the way back to the dugout after 6.2 innings.

At the bottom of the seventh, the D-backs officially threw the sponge. Player Position on Alert: John Ryan Murphy, a receiver, took the hill to Arizona. The Dodgers did not take advantage right away, but Pederson and Turner both slammed Murphy's slider at 58 mph. Bellinger had the opportunity to collect another 4 RBI with the bases loaded, but he flew to complete the frame.

David Peralta beat Brock Stewart to eighth place, 11-5.
