It was announced last Wednesday that Carano would not be returning to The Mandalorian or any other Star wars project after an offensive social media post, with a Lucasfilm spokesperson claiming in part that “denigrating people on the basis of their cultural and religious identity is heinous and unacceptable.” It was not Carano’s first offensive post. The actress and former mixed martial artist was also dropped as a client by UTA that same evening.

Carano showed no contrition after the layoff was announced. Instead, on Friday she claimed to be a victim of the cancellation culture and said he would team up with The Daily Wire, the curatorial website managed by Ben Shapiro, to develop and produce a film project.
“I send a direct message of hope to all those who live in fear of being canceled out by the totalitarian mob,” she said in part on Friday. “I have just started to use my voice which is now freer than ever, and I hope this inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.
