Mortal Kombat 11 was released last week and you will find below 4K screenshots of the PC version on the Max settings. These screenshots will give you an idea of the visual elements of the game on your PC. Our article on PC performance analysis will be published most likely tomorrow.
Mortal Kombat 11 uses a customized version of Unreal Engine 3 and has a more advanced lighting system than its predecessor. The game also features an object-based motion blur effect, although there is an option to disable it.
Unfortunately, the game only supports FXAA and TAA for its anti-aliasing and TAA solutions is really awful in this particular title. When this option is enabled, TAA generates ghost images and the beard of almost all characters is awful (with TAA disabled, aliases are visible on the beard). In addition, DSR and custom resolutions do not work properly. As such, the 1080p or 1440p monitors wishing to play Mortal Kombat 11 in 4K will have to set the resolution of their desktop to 4K before launching the game.
Fortunately, our RTX2080Ti (used to capture these screenshots) had no trouble running the game. Note that, even though the game runs at 60 frames per second, all the moves, deaths, and X-ray cinematics are locked at 30 frames per second. Mortal Kombat 11 runs smoothly on a wide range of PC configurations, but we'll talk more about this in our next PC performance analysis.
Enjoy!
